Keep writing, LaVonne and I will keep reading. Congrats on your latest road trip. What a life, you are blessed. Looking forward hearing from you next time.
YOU MADE IT!!! It was a l-o-n-g journey for you, but what an education, also. And the best part was that you had a wonderful place to end...to be with Robbie! I wish you the best of the best, LaVonne. Hopefully you and I will keep in touch.
What an adventure! So happy you have gotten to see so many friends and reached your destination, LaVonne. Aging "in place" is overrated compared to your adventure/friendship approach - travel of the heart!
So glad you made it safe and sound! I learned right away on my initial van travels that while I really enjoy being homeless for a time, I love having a home base. Then again maybe I'd feel differently if I could stand up in my van. 😄 I'm so glad we were able to finally connect after all these years and I'm looking forward to hearing all about Asheville! I'll have to make my way over there as I've never road tripped to the east coast. All the best to you and Scout as you get settled!
I'm glad you found a free lance welder. How about the steering? Did you manage to get that improved? I bet Asheville is pretty in the spring. I read the Outlander books. Very thick, but one quickly skimmed over the multitudinous sex scenes. lol I have it on Netflix, but haven't watched it yet.
Haha, I couldn't skim the sex scenes because I was listening to the audiobook while driving. Yikes! Asheville is gorgeous. The cracks in the frame were partly causing the steering problem. Also had to replace the centerlink arm, whatever that is.
LOL... not the best choice for audiobooks. Serious overkill. I would take my Ford into the local dealer who would tell this was how it was supposed to be. But it was constant discussion on the RV boards about how to spend thousands to make them driveable. Funny how both my Chevy based and both my Promasters especially drove like dreams. Forgot to mention that there is so much wonderful camping in that area for you. I have relatives over in the Franklin area.
Actually, I chose the first Outlander book to listen to because Audible said it was 32 hours long -- perfect for a long road trip, lol. Re Fords: I found out the hard way that this is a common problem, but I would have bought Belle anyway, she's a beaut inside and out.
Probably if you had read the first book in print form, you would have made a different long form choice. lol (The Raj Quartet? or The Alexandria Quartet? Though likely less than 32 hours.) My Ford based rig was really the best conversion and my favorite interior... big rear bath and side sofa - tons of storage. But it was just too exhausting to drive... and I was 20 years younger. lol
Love you and Scout and wish you both the very best! We were so honored to be a stop along the way. We look forward to all of your nesting posts and also the ones where you enjoy the bit where you sit at the moment. It will come, sweets. You are a superstar! That was a huge leap. Be gentle with yourself and get quiet so you can hear the clues on the wind for what's next. ❤️
LaVonne- Thanks for sharing this, especially your campervan pictures. I love a good road-trip. Hope the weather has been kind to you this week! :)
Thank you, Thalia!

Thank you, Ruth! I so enjoyed our too short visit — and definitely plan to keep in touch. ❤️
Welcome home, LaVonne. Hope Ashville turns out to be wonderful for you. What a trip!
Thanks! Sorry, I never got a chance to get back up to BC.
